We have planted eucalyptus saplings for firewood. They seem to be doing well but I've been looking online to try and find out if we need to do anything specific to nurture them. Does anyone have any experience with how to care for them that they can share. Thank you

5 acres, Ferguson 35X and implements, Hanmay pto shredder, BMW Z3, Countax ride on mower, chooks, Dorper and Wiltshire sheep. Bosky wood burning central heating stove and radiators. Retro caravan. Growing our own food and preserving it. Small vineyard, crap wine.

yes, I planted over 2,000 eucs from root trainers many years ago. The main thing is to keep the rabbits away as they nip the tops out. Also eucs are not as bomb proof as people make out - they need some TLC and regular watering to survive summer. Keep the weeds away with something like
Gardoprim and trim side shoots so you get a decent leader.
Paul Millen in Blenheim is an expert on eucs and has established many good stands.
