Just bought a very small lifestyle place 1.25 acres, being an x townie I have some learning to do, would love to learn bee keeping and happy if anyone wants to put some hives on the land.

Your local beekeepers club is the best place to start. I think the contact is Dee Corbett 876 8852. Have you checked out T Bar hives en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horizontal_top-bar_hive
It is around $300 for a queen to start you off and you need all the gear.
5 acres, Ferguson 35X and implements, Hanmay pto shredder, BMW Z3, Countax ride on mower, chooks, Dorper and Wiltshire sheep. Bosky wood burning central heating stove and radiators. Retro caravan. Growing our own food and preserving it. Small vineyard, crap wine. :)
