Hi everyone, my husband and I have two weeks ago moved onto our lifestyle block. It is 2.5 acres with a restored 1915 villa on it. I have been wanting to buy land since I was a kid and finally the dream has come true.
We are both new to lifestyle farming and I have so many questions, I don't even know where to start so will have a read through the forum and if I can't find the answers, I will do up a new thread.

Hi, we too are newish lifestylers (had the dream as well). We have 5 acres in Wairau Valley, bought about a year ago but we have only just moved up permanently. Staying in a caravan in our farm shed while we get a house designed and built so a little challenging in the cold! This is a great site and forum. Everyone is really helpful and friendly. I've found it a great place to ask for input and ideas from others.

Welcome from me. We too are newish, and have only been here for 25 years and elsewhere for a few years. Still learning lots, and mostly NOT stuff that we have forgotten
. PM if you want me to visit to give my opinion.
And if you feel like an ass give us a call. We have 25 of them, some of which could be re-homed if you pass the necessary examinations
. They have to go in pairs.

Welcome to LSB, we moved to Hope 37 years ago to 2 acres of bare land with an old house, we only have fruit and nut trees but just about all the varieties we can fit in, it has turned out to be a good move not have stock (sorry LongRidge you must be wincing at that.) but now we are old we can neglect the trees and they crop just as well as if well maintained and growing in immaculate lawns.
