Newbie from Rotorua ( Sulphur City) Rotovegas

Hello I have been a member but never really posted much.
Hands up all those who have visited Rotorua in North Island New Zealand.
Been a very Hot Beautiful Summer too.
I am a part Time Delivery Person & I do voluneeter work for organisations here which I enjoy very much.
But before this I was a Farmer out East of the city. My father & I had 1700 acrees which we ran 3000 breeding Ewes & 800 Pole Black Agus Cows & plus Steers & Heifers. 200 Red Deer. 200 Feral Goats & kept us busy. But we sold out in 1994.

I am situated in Rotorua too and we have had a fabulous summer with just enough rain for the garden.

I'm in Tikitere, close to the apple orchard. I notice you have been out East side. I'd love to know more about Angus cattle, and am interested in your volunteer groups. I'm interested in local food security, amongst other aspects of sustainability.

Yes I grew up on a farm out at Lake Rotoma where we started off with only a few acress but we then Cultivated big area of bushland into farmland & then we also brought the farm across the road bringing our farm up to 1300 acress & then some years latter we brought a neighbouring farm to bring farm up to 1700 Acress But we sold out in 1994 as My Father wanted to retire & enjoy like abit more.
We had 200 Red Deer which mostly we caught in Deer Traps on the edge of our farm ajoinning The Forest.
200 Feral Goats.
3000 Breeding Ewes
We had Bulls. Heifers Steers. Hoggetts.
Kept us busy too.
