Hi all.
Not really a lifestyle farm - we have brought 5 acres, mostly in 8y/o pine.
The thing I want advice with is:
Step bank/batter with Moutere Clay.
are we best to just put topsoil on and plant out and hope it sticks? Or do we put a layer of top soil, then weed mat (pinned) and plant in sections of the weed mat...?

Hi Karen,you could step it using walls that way you could have flattish areas for gardening .
Dont go for weed mat ,its horrible stuff

Hi Karen. What do you want to grow? What you want to grow will also depend on how reliable your watering system is too. This past year has had unusually even and regular rainfall for the Nelson/Tasman area.
