Hello from us was created by Animals 4 us
We have lived on our 10 acres for 8 years. Its taken all this time to get around to signing up. We have lurked around lsb and often got very helpful information from members.

Animals 4 Us - Stu and Bev - we have 1 highland bull, 4 Hereford heifers, 2 yearling steers, (for the freezer) 1 dorper ewe, 2 arapawa ewes, 1 arapawa ram lamb, 1 over sized kune kune pig, 3 very spoilt goats, chooks, ducks (and currently 41 ducklings) 3 cats and 2 dogs.

The list changes from time to time. Sometimes for the better and unfortunately also for worst. Having lost 1 goat last year to parasites and a dorper ram who got into the feed pellets and stuffed himself silly.

We look forward to hearing more stories and helpful information from members and hope we might be able to contribute.

Welcome Stu and Bev! What kind of chooks and ducks do you raise?

Hi Andrea, we have recently purchased 12 Hyline Pullets but in the past we have raised brown leg horns and mixed breeds. Ducks...... we have muscovys who have just produced 41 ducklings who will be looking for new homes and a pair of Khaki Campbells and 3 x? ducks. Mixed bunch of ducks!

I love Muscovys! We bred them for 10 years before reducing the number of species we ran here. Still have a trio of very ancient Indian Runners, who actually hatched and then lost 8 ducklings last summer, but mostly for sentimental reasons. Just love to have ducks wandering about, and they provide a service in the garden without causing damage like the chooks do.
