Just joined and searching for a little land for myself to attempt a start at being self sufficient! No money and no brains but Im excited and willing to learn... will listen to all advice but not necessarily understand it [:I] Currently in Levin and have no idea where I will end up! Very keen to meet people who have the time and patience to give me hints and ideas and check up on me every few months to make sure Im still breathing :D

With no money ...

Welcome to the forum. What's your plan? You could cruise around helping people on farms and learn quite a lot to give you a start - and a realistic idea of what it all involves.

You will definitely need a brain.

Hmm, DP - besides the brain, you also need a bit of a can-do attitude - most often that comes hand in hand with some sort of self confidence:confused:

have you ever given thought to what you can do and skills you do have?

Hi and welcome, we're in Levin too, well just outside nearer Ohau.
Happy to have a chat if you want to come round and see our block and help with any questions. We started off with our 13 acres back in 1975, and we're still here, but the acres are significantly more!

Not self sufficient in any real way-who needs to grow their own veggies around Levin when they are so fresh out of the paddocks around us!
Send me a PM if interested and I'll give you our contact details for meeting up!
