New to Whitford Need Help with 5 acres

Hi everyone

We have recently purchased 5 acres of bare land on Whitford Road. However the previous owners neglected the land over the hot summer so we now have waist high dry grass.

What makes it difficult is the land is sloping and we have 30-40 pine tree stumps about 400-600mm in diameter that need grinding, so we can't mow the grass.

If anyone is keen to graze their livestock on the property we can come to some arrange where you graze the stock in return to helping with the weeds & returning the land to good grazing pasture.

Any help, advice will be greatly appreciated and we are looking forward to being part of the Whitford community.

Cheers

Leanne

Hi Leanne, do you have a loading ramp on the property? If so is it for cows or sheep? We used to live in Beachlands and still know a number of people in Whitford (my hubby and I both worked locally) but they'd ask that question, what the fences were like (ie do they look like sheep would go through them?) and whether you had a good water supply to the troughs (am assuming there are troughs but there may well not be on a bare piece of land). Are you Howick end of Whitford Road or down the Whitford shops end?

Welcome to the forum and all the best with your new property
