Hi everyone! was created by HeidiLee
Hello, I've just signed up to lsb.
Home is a little cabin in the bush and few acres in Hunua. The fur and feather family consist of chooks, a Kaimanawa horse and a miniature horse and my trusty dog. I've got some projects for the summer including:
Expanding the vege garden, luckily I have an endless supply of horse manure
New tackroom.
Controlling the ~once out of control, then back in control, then out of control again~ Gorse paddock.
Self filling troughs (I feel twinges of relief in my lower back just writing that!)
Electric Fencing.
Post and rail fencing another 'Diet' paddock to the rather 'round' ponies.
Getting back in the saddle.
Any horsey people out this way? I'm 'off the beaten track' so to speak, other than my direct neighbour I haven't met anyone out this way with horses and would love some horsey contacts out this way.
Also, anyone with an abundance of vege seedlings or fruit/ veges (for preserving) I have acquired quite a collection of potted NZ native plants and ponga logs for garden edging, if you'd like to do a swap I'd love to hear from you.

Hi, is that hunua papakura area? I remember the falls about 12 yrs ago, that was a fantastic summer. Ridiculously dangerous for sum1 who cnt swim ( like myself) but so very very enchanting when the sunrise turns the water in the pools before the waterfall gold!! You lucky thing!!

Sounds idyllic! We're thinking our next LSB will be a little cabin in the bush
Need to retire first!
Best wishes with the to-do list .. happily one of the first things we did was set up the auto watering for stock troughs.

Thanks everyone, yes it is Hunua, Papakura. I went on a pony club camp at the Presbytarian Camp when I was a kid and fell in love with the Hunua area. Aria, if I could do it again I'd have a little cabin *on the edge* of the bush because you miss out on sunlight being IN the bush
Yes, can't wait for the troughs to self fill.
