Hi everyone,
Just joined up today as I'm hoping to be a lifestyle block owner very soon. I have lived on half an acre in Southbridge, Canterbury for the past 8 years, raising chickens and children. Now, we've sold our wee place, and are waiting for our purchase of 15 acres just outside Dannevirke to be confirmed. Not only are we increasing our acreage, we're moving islands with our three kids, 3 cats and a dog, leaving the chickens behind and starting all over again.
I was brought up on a 115acre farm in Waiuku, where my dad still farms limousins and kiwifruit. I'm hoping that this long ago experience will help me in my new venture. I'm also hoping that being part of this group will help answer my questions and give me advice that will help with my management of land and stock.
Looking forward to the new adventure!

Not really - you'll get a lot more rain than you'd be used to in Southbridge, and probably less frosts too.kindajojo;439756 wrote: welcome....terralee lives over that way...much the same climate as canterbury.....hot summers and cold winters
