5 build a house!

Hello - after many years getting various gems of advice from this site, have decided to join. We are nearly..... through the council process and desperate to start building our family home. We currently have chooks and 2 milking goats which I am keen to get pregnant in June if poss and are investigating AI or finding a billy for my girls to "visit".. Lots going on, but loving it!!! Enjoy the day.

Oh, BTW, what breed of buck are you looking for? Might be able to help with finding you one suitable for your girls.

I have 2 Saanen girls. Looked at AI but quite expensive. Would like them to have a "visit" in June or July. Do you have any contacts over Banks Peninsula way?

Hi, Nicky -- I can't think of anyone nearer to Banks Peninsula than Southbridge, and that doesn't help you much, I"m sure. AI isn't that reliable with goats, so it's even more expensive to get it to work. The Southbridge gent I know of has some of the best and oldest Saanen genetics in the country, so if you want his contact details, PM me and I'll get them to you. Could be very worthwhile for you.

Andrea does Gruff Junction hire billies? They have a large saanen herd and are just in Greenpark

I'm pretty sure they keep a closed herd, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.
