Hi
I'm new here. I came across this site randomly when googling weaner cattle in my area. We have 5 acres north west of Auckland, a little south of Helensville and have been here for 4.5 years. We relocated our house about 18 months ago and prior to that we were staying in the barn. The house is a neverending project lol and I'm keen to hear from people who have done the same thing. It is a lot of work but all very rewarding. We have two kids (one is nearly 3 and the other is 10 months), a dog, 2 cats and a horse here. We also have another horse and a pony for the kids when they're older but those two live elsewhere for now.
We love it out here and don't ever plan on moving

Yes, and i am just down the road. Perhaps we can have a north west get together and invite blueberry up with all that blueberry wine.
Just concerned today on hearing that 1000 acres of land gone up as a mortgage sale, all the way more or less from waimauku to woodhill.
Barry Hart the lawyer has gone bottom up.
He bought all that land that cornerstone tried to develop and got thwarted and he bought up every farm he could along SH16
Will it become another crafar farm in terms of sale and foreign investment?

Thanks for the welcome
Yep, it is a lot of the properties along SH16 and way more than 1000 acres (I think that bit is just the Cornerstone part). It is about 985 hectares from what I've heard. Mortgagee sale signs both sides of the highway. Apparently international tenders close next month, could be very scary! A lot of locals seem to be thinkin 'Crafar farms' thoughts.

Ha ha, we've had so many of those conversations already and just keep on thinking of things that need to be done. One thing at a time lol and the 'to do' list just keeps getting longer
Wow!! That is a lot just for that maize. I wonder what will happen. There was an article in the Herald last week, or the week before quoting him as saying he didn't think it would actually go to mortgagee sale and he had a plan. I guess it is just a wait and see kind of thing.
