unskilled labour volunteered in exchange to knowledge!

Just thought I'd introduce myself on here early as my fiance and I are getting ourselves a nice little 15 acre block near Ohaupo in the mighty Waikato. We take over in about 3 weeks so there has been much studying of farming books and reading of lifestyle magazines (along with serious perusal of various catalogues!)
I have been having a look around on here but so far haven't managed to find anything like what I'm after; maybe someone can re-direct me...
Anyways, I was wondering if anyone had thought of having something like a labour list forum or something like that?
We are both kinda new to lifestyle farming (or at least new to doing it all ourselves) and I for one would be more than happy to help out some more experienced lifestylers/farmers with some of their more labour intensive chores in exchange for learning the ropes with different jobs and different animals.
Something like WWOOFER's I guess but just working for the knowledge and experience rather than a place to stay and a meal.
Anyone got any thoughts?
Looking forward to getting into all aspects of the lifestyle living.
Dave.

I was however looking more for a few hours of work or a day of work here and there a bit closer to home so I can still get home to keep an eye on my own stock in the morning/evening...

I went to an intensive two-week training course, then was an apprentice under a senior technician for one season. It took me ages to get it. In the US there are weekend courses, but I doubt many people who do them actually become proficient.granpadave;416434 wrote: Thanks for the offer Ruth. Cool website to. I see you're an AB technician; would you be keen to show a newby how to do that? I can imagine that being quite a handy skill on a small block not wanting to run a bull...
Thank you, we're very fortunate! We also enjoy sharing it.anaclar;416481 wrote: Just looked at your website, your place seems amazing.
