Won't use nest boxes

Hi, we are new members here and new to having 3 bantams. We built a kitset chook house hut with a ramp going up to the nesting boxes. They won't go anywhere near the boxes, do we just leave them to do their own thing or what? They go up half way then back down again. hope someone can help us

Are the nest boxes theit sleeping area too? If so pop them in each night and they will get used to the ramp when they have to use it to get down each morning.

No they are on the grass at the bottom, there is an opening up the ramp that we could close off with some cardboard and keep them up there for a short while but just trying to catch them might stress them out every night?

If you wait until after dark, they will be sleepy and will not make a big fuss.

Thanks for the suggestion never thought about when they are sleepy but then when it's dark I'm sleepy and it's too dark to go there. lol
