My home town .... when my parents moved the dog and me at 2 weeks old and the household gear from Kawakawa in the LandRover, some of the chooks they brought with them had laid eggs on the journey to Parawai Rd. Dad later had 50 acres at Kopu that we did all sorts of things on.

I live just off Parawai road. Originally from the UK (Newcastle upon Tyne), moved here for good about 18 months ago. Great place.
We have just been down to Precious Poultry on the Plains, and had a look around, what a place! We have decided on a trio of chooks, 2 x Dorking + 1 x Plymouth Rock (or vice versa). Now I just need to build them a chicken tractor!

Welcome to LSB Paul. Geet awee man! sorry really bad Geordie impersonation attempt. I used to flat with a chap many moons ago from Fencehouses, Durham. I'm a southern girl but lived in NZ long time now. Lots of very interesting and useful people on this site.
(My mechanic is a Geordie and very hard to understand when he gets carried away, thankfully, years of watching 'Auf Wiedersehen Pet' has helped enormously).
