Back to the basics

Hi Everyone, My name is Roger and my wife Kathy who is a city girl born and bred have just purchased a 10 acres block in beautiful Swannanoa. For me it is going back to basics. I grew up on a dairy farm in Waiuku and returned to the farm some years later when it was leased and converted to beef. I did the lifestyle thing then with chooks and a couple of pigs and then lot heavily involved farming Angora rabbits. 17 years on, going back to the rural life has many changes. More compliance issues, lots of "gosh, I forget how we did that" and some North vs South issues. Still, when we first sat on that back patio and listened to the quiet, it is all worth it. Coming across this website has been great and I've enjoyed reading through the forums. Very much looking forward to being part of the community here.
The "Lockey" username, is from being a locksmith for the past 20 something years.
