Hi I'm Vicky
Currently living on a 1/4acre rural township property which backs onto a rural farmland and one day I hope to see myself on a rented or my own LSB. I have a horse grazing near Invercargill and two beefy bulls (1xjersey and 1xfresian)in South Otago which I raised and sent off at 12wks. I know I will learn all I need to know here because this is an amazing informative site and I'm glad I stumbled across it.

Hi Hintzashouse

Thanks for the welcome
Hungry tummys grazing on a few acres is how I came up with BellyAcres.
I am pleased to say I have two rentals properties to look at this week one a 6acre and the 2nd 10acres.
Fingers crossed they don't last long.

Thats very exciting. You will be thrilled. Seeing it in weather like this, will give you good ideas on how it might cope with various animals. What animals are you planning on getting? How is it off for paddock drainage and shelter and all that stuff?

Yes I am very thrilled. I saw the property two weeks ago and only got the msg to take over two days ago so in saying that I haven't seen the place since the snow fall and cannot get up that way because Fiver Rivers is closed off. However I am popping up Friday and will be interesting to see what water is left laying around if any.
As far as shelter goes there isn't any trees. I am new at this and not sure if planting will be viable for me or some sort of tunnel or shed shelter would be better? Animals...well i could get two of this and that but that's not quite what I want. Picking up a few bobbys for now and leaving my two steers grazing in Otago until culling, definitely some chickens. If the place was bigger I would dearly have loved to look at the prospects of highland cattle such beautiful creatures.
