Hi, Just in the process of setting up a vacant block. Working on placing a relocatable house, clearing blackberry and setting up home. Currently have angora goats tidying up paddocks and waiting on council for final paperwork to shift house. Fun times ahead.

Good luck, sounds very exciting indeed, we are heading to a block up North too. Where is Kiripaka?

I believe I was within a dozen kilometres of Kiripaka earlier today.

Our angora are clearing blackberry just a little further north...but when they have fleece on them they get caught in the blackberry and have to be rescued...again and again and again [}

Now have 2 more angoras as both were pregnant - 1 male/1 female and the blackberry is just about gone. Know what you mean about blackberry tangle! House has been shifted in and is now on piles and now connecting power, sewerage, water etc, etc. Love the goats - not the hooves and ongoing problems with the wet

Don't forget to castrate the male because it is not a great idea to mate son to mother or half sister. "Line breeding" can be successful but you should start with known parents of exceptional quality. With ringing the testicles and the weather getting warmer, every day that you put it off increases the risk of the wound becoming flystruck.
