running low on grass and the weight is approx 200kg

cost for homekill in total from kaipara meats is $350ea and this seems alot.

anyone and idea as with 200kg there will be only about 100 on the plate.

Why do you think they are 200kg? We don't wean our dairy/beef cross calves until they are at least 200kg at about 4-5 months, so 200kg at 18 months they are either very poorly fed or are a small breed or both.
To be able to sell them they must have both their yellow AHB eartags, and also have their "Animal Status Declaration" form. They will probably need to have been tb tested at some stage.

The price from Kaipara Meats is not bad, Bruce and Amber are nice people. If you see them, ask how their little budgie is [;)] they got one from me a while back.

For comparison ring Dr Hud's Homekill, 09-422-5862 or Country Meat Processors 09-420-3113.

The other choice is send them to Wellsford market if you do not want all that meat at once.

There are no bad questions only those that are not asked.

Doug from Country Meats are good value,we tend to age the meat for 10 days and leave in whole slabs (steak cuts) and steak ourselves and that way we know it has not been "Nibbled at" as we have been caught before with unscrupelous butchers, now its just a habit.

We used Doug from Country Meats too, they do fantastic sausages and salami! Only one we've used thus far so can't compare sorry.
