I am so glad to have found this place, it might help my husband and I to find our once huge passion for our little paradise again.
We live in the beautiful Motueka Valley and at this point have only got 2 cattle and 15 chickens. We used to have goats that we milked, sheep, a cat and a dog. We are blessed with 7 acres of land, we grow all sorts of different fruit and I make jams/jellies and preserves with them.
We don't however have any machinery at all, other then a petrol handmower and over time my husband and I have become a bit overwhelmed with all the work that comes up each year. So, I am hoping that I can be re-inspired by others that live in similar situations. Look forward to reading more as time allows.

welcome :)

I understand how overwhelming it can get and we have a bunch of machinery. I think you have found a place of companion souls

Thanks foufee for you post. I sure hope I can learn from this group. Maybe some shortcuts, good tips or as I said, maybe just inspiration.

Thanks Stu R, I am already loving reading all the posts and ideas. It's nice to see that people still try and help each other out, that's not always a given, as we are often so caught up in our own little worlds.

Hi Hillside, welcome. I'm relatively new to this site too. Was reading what you said with interest. I guess its easy to take for granted the lovely style of living we have chosen so when it does seem a little overwhelming at times, just think back to a time when you once yearned for what you have now. Whenever that might have been, I bet it was a time you had pictured your dream lifestyle block with chooks and the rest......you have it now, make the most of it, life's so short - ENJOY !

Hi know what you mean, only thing I can suggest is sort out what needs doing then list "now" down to "would be nice" then break the now ones down into as small as possible bits so you can tick each one off. So you feel good about what have done and don't worry about what needs doing thats my way LOL. After all it's yours so have fun along the way. Don't worry be happy

Having time is a measure of enthusiasm:rolleyes:

Thank you both for your thoughts and encouragement, I shall read everything out to my husband too and will take your thoughts and ideas on board. You are so right, we have to remember back to how excited we were to have this wonderful place and just take one step at a time. Thank you again.
