A PLACE TO LIVE

Hi everyone, I have just recently become a member of this great website and will be using it alot I'd say, as there are so many helpful hints and tips from people who are only too willing to help.

My Wife, Son, Daughter and I have been living out in the country for the last 7 months and love it, we are currently out in Kauri just north of Whangarei and the time has come for us to be moving on.

We would really like to stay out in the country as it has so much more to offer than living in town and since food is getting more expensive every day it makes far more sense to be raising meat animals and having a vege garden.

We are looking for anyone who could help us out with a property to either rent or rent to own and not mind us having a few chickens and maybe a sheep or two and possibly a house cow. I have a farming back ground also so the place would not get out of control. Hopefully not too far from town as I still have to work and my wife is a full time student at the moment studying to become a midwife, petrol is so expensive. So if anyone can help we'd appreciate it very much.

Hi, Josh, would you be interested in living in our Eco-Village? We are about 50km south of Whangarei so maybe a bit far for your travel? We have 7 house-lots of which 3 are for sale. One of the ones for sale is bare-land but the others have houses. One is currently rented out - I think that is short term. The third - I think - is still looking for a tenant. You would need to be interested in some community participation and willing to abide by some limitations in use of environmentally damaging materials.

One more thing - in case it is useful - one of our members currently works in Whangarei so, if that is where you need to go, car-sharing would be a possibility.
