Hi Everyone

We're new to LB and buzzed to find that there's such a great community of like minded folks out there.

Have had a read of some of the forums and was delighted to find such a wealth of 'useful' information and people with a sense of humour to boot!

Hope your dream is going well and that it's everything and more than you dreamed it would be!

For us, we're passionate about nature and the great outdoors.

Over time we hope to be able to make a living 'and' a life from the land. For now though it's just nice to have released ourselves somewhat from the shackles of stressful town living and to have found a quiet space in the country which we can call our own.

Live the dream!

Cheers Tash

Hi Tash!

Welcome and congratulations on getting your dream!
This is a great place to peruse and glean snippets of useful titbits from.

I love wandering through various threads & forusm, stopping when I see something that catches my eye - it's my new version of window shopping!

9.5 acres with 300-odd pines and lots of wobbly fences [:D]

Howdy Greenfingers

Thanks heaps for the very warm welcome.

Window shopping and going where the eye catches - I love it! And sooo much more satisfying than the shops where you get buyers remorse before you even pay!

Your patch of paradise sounds heavenly btw - I had a grin picturing the wobbly fences and the tumble down barn with puss, kinder and the hubby in tow.

Some of our fences are a bit wavy too ;-) they get the job done though so it's all good I figure, so long as you don't mind a bit of rust. I am looking forward to the day, likely many years in the future, when I can vault a fence one handed like some of our farmer neighbours....

Hooray Tash

Welcome Tash - love your 'fresh' energy! Our place is 4 hectares, roughly, lots of goats, chooks, ducks, a smattering of kk pigs, turkeys, rabbits, and the odd cattle beast. The dream has been stagnating the last couple of years, dealing with a lot of health issues, but all involved on the mend, so slowly finding our footing again. Not new to this, as I grew up on a smallholding, and my grandmother grew up on a huge 'proper' family farm in Germany, so had much sage advice to share when I was growing up. This is our 12th year on an LSB, after reverting to the suburban 1/4 acre for a lot of years, but always lots of fruits, vege and poultry when/where we were allowed to have them. Even had a container garden on a balcony the couple of years we had to be apartment dwellers! (Never again, I hope!)
