35 years ago we dug up the lawn and grew veges, we said "One day we'll live somewhere where we can grow most of our own food."

For ten years in Africa in a city of 10 million people we grew veges and kept chooks for eggs and muscovys for meat (we also tried rabbits and geese, but the rabbits wouldn't breed - ironic, but it was too hot).

Then we came to NZ and because of children's schooling lived in the big smoke...

Now we have 3 Ha and four beefies, the veges and other meat will follow once I'm living here all the time (meanwhile my job is still in Auckland).

We are learning heaps, and have lots more to learn :)

No no no, we're no longer exclusive: Sue does blacks, I do greys ... Especially when they're not what they look like. [;)]

Hi Tim and welcome :D

While the posts above may seem a little...weird...it's a long standing Angus vs Murray Grey friendly rivalry. I think [}:)][}:)]

They all taste like meat to me. Apart from the yellow fat on some of the dairy breeds I wouldn't know the difference after the carcass is cut up.

Welcome to the site Tim. You'll find all sorts on here mate.
