Polycarbonate versus glass house

We are wanting to buy a growing house for hobby growing of vegies/propogating etc. We are stuck about what is better - glass or polycarbonate and would value opinions from other people who have experienced either or both options. We live near Pukekohe/Auckland so our weather is not too severe in the winter, although summers can be very hot. Look forward to hearing. Cheers! Lou

My greenhouse has glass panels and I do find these pretty easy to clean with a soft broom once a year. I don't have experience with polycarbonate, but wonder how easy it would be to clean, whether it is subject to moss and algae as glass is. On the plus side, I can see it is light and possibly better insulated in the winter, and less likely to break. Glass can get brittle as it ages.

Did you know, that what you thought I said, was not what I meant :S

Glass is easy to replace if any cattle get into the garden, we have also had a horse enter our one once, he went in, and then gently backed out! The cost is the big thing, but glass is easy to keep clean as mentioned above.
