Birman Babe ~ my story was created by Birman Babe
My name is Cheryl and I live with my hubby Jeff between Paeroa & Thames on 1.5 acres; my little piece of paradise. Here I breed Birman cats and we have a handful of sheep, chooks, a dog and a pet goat.
Although NZ born, I lived in Melbourne for many years and moved back here in 1994. . Cried for the first 3 weeks, wondering what the hell I had done [^] We originally started off on the Hauraki Plains, purchasing a boarding kennel/cattery which we ran until 2000, when we moved to our little plot of land.
Being a "city girl" I often find LSB life a bit of a struggle but I love living in the country so keep on keeping on......

Hi Birman Babe!
You just seem to be having the lifestyle I wish to have in the future... Living in the countryside and have a few farm animals with land to grow lots of veg and fruit has been my dream for sometime now. I live in Christchurch at the moment, with my husband, saving money for our future in the country
Love to do gardening, cook, bake, make preserves and cheese... So I am a bit granny like although I am only in my 30's
Another reason I am messaging you is that I see you breed Birmans and I have a question out of curiosity which you probably know the answer to. I have a female Birman that has just recently turned 1. As Birmans are slow growers, she still has in theory a couple of years to get to full size/weight. She looks quite large in comparison to her sister (owned by my mother in law) and weighs 2.750 kg which is almost half the weight of my mother in law's full grown male birman. I know the breeder I got it from, was considering keeping her for breeding which tells me that she probably considered her to be one of the bests in the litter. From your experience, do you know whether her weight for a one year old female is normal and maybe my mother in law's is smaller than average or is my kitten larger than the norm. Both "kittens" eat well and are very healthy... Specially mine who is a little "terror" and never stops... But the cuddliest and cutest thing ever!
Thanks in advance!
