this is soooo scrummy:

I am knitting up the watermellon (pink and green) into a cardy for Charlie (4yo) at the moment and it is knitting up beautifully.

Any other needle knitters?

I've seen how long it takes for Mum to knit 2 ply shawls Isla. Are you sure you want to start a project like that? :) Jerseys are quicker. Or maybe a scarf? :)

Yer patronising old baggage! Have ye not seen my 3-ply shawls? It takes me about four months to knit one of those - and I must get on with another before that baby's born! I've always had a yearning to knit a really fine one. It does become a bit tricky during lambing, calving and mating time, knitting with white wool. :D

we went to look at a new lounge suite the other day and one of the requirements was...'are the arms low enough to be able to knit in the chair'!!!.. actually the salesperson was into knitting too and was very symathetic to the problem...

my only concern was that the old boy wanted leather and I have a tendancy to use the arm of the chair as a pin cushion when sewing!!! whoops.. that would be a no-no...
