I am making my first ever quilt. OK so I have done handmade patchwork ones before, but this one is different so it will be interesting.

It is a celtic knot type one that you quilt the squares as you go, so that should be interesting.

Oh and if anyone is into making porcelain dolls, I have a masters in porcelain doll making so may be able to give you some tips.

Hi Kiwismum - I'm a seriously enthusiastic quilter but I've never tried a celtic knot. They look great though, from the pictures I've seen. I do hope you'll post a picture of it so we can all admire it.
Cheers, Mich.

Thanks Mich,

All the ladies in the quilting class reckoned it was a hard one but I have had no problems so far.

I really enjoy looking at others' quilts. A picture would be nice. I have been into quilting for many years. I have branched off into making quillows. (quilts that fold into pillows) The big pocket on the bottom is just right for cold feet. By the way, do you put your name and the year on the quilt when finished? When your great-grandchildren snuggle up with one of your homemade quilts, it will remind them of the quiltmaker and give them a sense of their roots and history. (Just my opinion)

la granja - wow, your quilts look amazing!!!

Tell me, is the pic of the big one lying over a chair taken in your home? Is that a radiator in the background? If so, cld you tell me a little bit about your heating arrangements, please? Do you have an (eg) Rayburn which heats your hot water and radiators, or do you have an oil or gas radiator system? This is another project of mine - I wld so like my home to be warmer! Thanks for your time :)

Hi
Thanks for your comments, the little girl quilt is sunbonnet Sue. I have been invited to exhibit at the Picton Quilt Symposium next year so will be busy getting ready for it, I have never exhibited although I have sold quite a few of my quilts
