Another Discussion Group called Handcrafts?

Kate, can we have a handcrafts discussion group section as well. Lots of us do handcrafts, so it would help a lot.

Also, is there any way we can make it clear to new comers that there are other 'Off Topic' discussions groups?

I've had a query from someone who couldn't work out where her posting went. A lot of people don't know about the other Discussion Groups.

Inger - I second a Handcrafts discussion group. I'm hoping to get back into knitting again but I'm interested in other stuff too.

Hmm.. theres good points to the suggestion, dunno how much discussion there would be in a topic i would start? how many of ya would even know what I mean when discussing seating a thou back off the lands with a load of a tenth grain under max of AR2206 for a 75fps increase through the chrony and a .65 MOA.

Or debating the relative benefits of S30v over 440c for stock removal and whether to use 52100 or 1075 when forging from barstock :D

:D And if you lump Events in with Rural Voice. especially as rural voice seems a lot to do with events like when submission hearings like Transpower meetings, you'd even still have the same number of forums.

Me too. I quilt and have just started scrapbooking. Wish I had never started, now I can't stop and you can't see the kitchen table anymore.

I'd be keen. Have been looking for an overlocker to learn on. A bit worried it might eat me though!!! Also paint, knit, sew, and my front hallway has been a DIY project for the last 18 months....

The problem is, I don't have a question. :) Its just that someone from the forum was asking me a handcrafts question in an email and it got me thinking that it would be useful if we had a separate discussion group for it. Cause, just as most of us have no interest in learning more about Kiwi gun obsession (I'm guessing that was what your jargon was about Kiwi), There are probably others (though a very few I'm guessing) that aren't interested in some type of handcraft or other.

I've finally found a metal comb that I can use to card my wool with. The vet had some very nice dog combs, though they'd never had anyone wanting them to card wool with. They thought I wanted them to comb my sheep. :)

Actually, if we each listed the handcrafts we're interested in or have done before, that would help beginners to know who to contact for help.

I have done a lot of sewing and knitting and in the last year, I've done a lot of spinning. It takes time to get any good at it, but its fun trying. I've also done tapestries - cross stitch, long stitch and half stitch. Years ago I did a bit of macrame.
