homebrew shave soap? was created by zellakanzx
concerning shaving with a straight razor, i am looking for a good shave soap. i'm normally fairly lazy and just use foam in a can, which works.
i was looking at some triumph and disaster brand, but it has aluminium in it!
so i'm looking for a kiwimade, fairly organic shave soap.
anyone?

Yes, Ria Soap do a really good 'natural' range of soaps at a very reasonable price.
www.riasoap.co.nz/shaving_soap.htm
As you can see they are only $3.50 each and last a while. My husband keeps his in a small container in the bathroom and is only used for shaving (even I use it on my legs).
She is based in Huntly but does mail order.

I've just planted
soapwort it is supposed to make a very mild and soothing liquid soap, it might be worth trying, it's flowers are attractive to bees and butterflies.
PS just read it's poisonous to stock.
