Hi there, can anyone tell me where I can purchase buckwheat husks for an environmentally friendly alternative to stuff cushions and bean bags? I am in Christchurch but will purchase from anywhere that supplies? :-)

I've only ever seen it in small (read "Expensive") quantities at Huckleberry farms up here in Auckland...

Just some advice from soneone who has done this. Don't try to stuff a bean bag chair because it becomes too heavy and wont stand up. It just slouches over and does not work like a regular bean bag chair-- is not comfy

Also plan on some sqiuish- down. So what I mean is I stuffed pillows for the bed and they got a lot saggier with time and less plump becaue the husks just seemed to shrink down with time and pressure.

Hi, I see that 2012 you replied to a thread about buckwheat husks, I see that is a long time ago, but do you still know of a place in Chch to get buckwheat husks? I'm going to attempt to make a pillow.
Many thanks,
Steph
