I have lots of excess guinea fowl, chook, turkey and fantail dove feathers here and wonder whether craft people can suggest a use for them. Guinea feathers in particular are pretty, with spots on them.
Any ideas?

There's a lady who exhibits at Culverden Fete who does the most amazing and stunning art work using feathers. Maybe you could google feather art in nz, or check out the Culverden Fete website and see what she does, for some inspiration.

I have heaps of feathers from my rosella, my thought was for fly fishermen that tie their owns flies.
Someone on here made / makes cat toys I seem to remember.
TM in the craft section, I have seen feathers there.

We have a friend who makes Korowai, (feather cloaks). She is always on the lookout for feathers. We have a plastic bag hanging in the porch, it's the 'Feathers for Aunty Shona' bag. (All our friends are labeled 'Auntie' ... or 'Uncle' when it comes to the animals....)
She's making a Korowai for a family member at the moment. Any feathers greatly appreciated! PM me if you're interested in contributing.

At Waitangi for Waitangi Day this year I saw some fantastic korowai. One in particular caught my eye. It looked like it had been made from Barred Rock feathers but they had been dyed red. The result was striped red & black feathers. It was stunning.
I have Barred Rocks and Barnevelders, both with beautiful feathering. I was going to see if I could track down the women at Waitangi and give them my feathers, but Yakut I may get in touch and give them to 'Aunty Shona' if I can't find my Waitangi kuia.

That would be great! 'Aunty Shona' is such a cool person and any feathers would be greatfully received. Even Pukeko feathers or whatever. I know the feathers are washed before they're used, but how I don't know.
