I would like to buy about 1 kg of the dog hair yarn (soft).
Do you know anyone who will make and sell it?

anybody who breeds Lhasa Apsos could supply. Their hair is great for spinning - my parents ahd one when I was younger, many moons ago and my mother had some spun. We only have one so doubt if you'd get enough - he's about to have a haircut as it is too hot for him in the Wairarapa but don't imagine it would be good for spinning?

1 Border collie, 1 Huntaway, 2 Lhasa Apsos, Suffolk and arapawa ewe crosses, an Arapawa ram,an East Friesian ewe , 5 cats, 42 ducks , 1 rooster and 30 hens, 5 geese, 12 goats, 2 donkeys, 2 house cows, one heifer calf, one bull calf, 3 rabbits and lots and lots and lots of fruit trees...

If you are spinning it make sure you use 50% wool, preferably merino or it will sag like a bag. There is no stretch in dog hair

Actually the dog's fluff only using for spinning and knitted warming belts are very good to wear if you have back or kidney problems.

Anyway thanks for your responses.

I have a Melamut X German Shep that moults a very woolly fluff and so much of it you'd think we had 3 of her. Usually fill a shopping bag every day just brushing her out.
