Ooo, that sounds intriguing.
So is this a small business venture type thing, or purely recreational?

at the moment, just a hobby, it is just a small one. Though there are a couple of people if not earning enough to make a living are certainly making money from the stones here.

Tumblers used to be popular in the 70s and people who used them were really hooked as the magic of turning stones into beautiful polished gems is very addictive! So enjoy your new 'toy' and hope you can make some lovely jewellry.

You Live and Learn, or you don't Live Long -anon
for the mechanicly inclined, they're not very hard to make either, a solid round drum, a frame and a pair of axle stubs. weld the stubs to the ends of the drum, off centre so the drum wobbles as it turns, and run a pulley to a motor or a waterwheel and slap a door on the drum. Hey Presto! your own home made tumbler.

Don't make me release the flying monkeys!
Uh oh, you have started a hobby that will become addictive. For me it started when I took a lapidary class at a local rock shop. The class only cost $5, but that is because they realize when you are hooked, you will spend much more. Seriously, you will be amazed at the beauty of your stones. Rock on!!!
