CK how is the gorse flower cordial? Am making my third lot of elderflower as its been so popular, but I added more flowers to the last lots. The champagne was really nice with a very distinct but delicate flavour.

It tastes like lemon cordial.

Gorse flowers seem to have no taste at all. I am wondering if I need to up the amount I am using of them. I used one cup.

Hi Prim, the rhubarb champagne is very bubbly, like the real stuff, and boy is it nice chilled on a hot day. Neat colour too. Cheers.

Christmas cake made and in the container. Now if I was to trickle brandy over it, how much and how often?
It looks and smells great so far.

Have a look at this blog...has some awesome patterns for cotton dishcloths.

Just made the chocolates.

Decided to make the 2nd lot with melon liqueur, but it hardened the chocolate instantly, so no molds, instead I rolled them into little balls and rolled them in coconut.

I am VERY new member and have just read all the blogs on making xmas gifts. I have just made some pickles and wanted something else to go with them. I like the sound of the Elder Flower champers and cordial. What sort of bottles are you putting them in? And lids? Am going to have a go

Just bottled 52 litres of Elderflower Champagne, we spent a day cleaning the recycled champagne botles and removing labels and have re-corked "just like the real thing" I am going to make up some labels and we will give some bottles away as gifts. We can't believe how beautiful this tastes. :D :D :D :D

Looking into making some Rhubarb Champagne also.

When the plants have dried out from all this rain I will go and pick another large bunch of Elder Flowers and dry them for herbal teas.

And maybe make some cordial also.

Made elderflower champers in other years - this year the pigs have done a little pruning of the trees. Heaps on the roadsides if I had time
