Cows going blind

I've a daughter milking a few hundred cows in the Rotorua area and she has just told me over the last month about 10 cows have gone blind in one or both eyes (the vet is not even sure what it is yet) it's not pink eye. The eye clouds over and goes white, one or two came right but have got the condition back again any suggestions I can pass on.

How have they eliminated pink eye? Have the cows tested negative for it?

If you find out any more, could you post an update, please?

Pink eye is rife at the moment - but if they are absolutely sure it is not that then I would be considering IBR (Infectious bovine rhinotracheitis). This can cause corneal oedema leading to opacity of the eye. It is an infectious viral disease which would help explain a "herd" type problem rather than an individual cow "odd bod" problem.
