Winz benefit rates

My invalid son just got a raise in his benefit of $2.11 cents a week. I've told him not to spend it all in one shop

A sign of the times? And it sounds like it's more than most can expect this year.... Grim times ahead by the sounds of things....

no leter of explanation so I don't know if its a cost of living rise or a tax cut. I think it's a insult actually.

Re: Winz benefit rates

benefits and national superannuation are increased 01/04/ every year based on the CPI.
There will be a lot of people this year who will receive no increase at all and others that will have hours reduced or lose their jobs.

Re: Winz benefit rates

what gets me is that my sons situation is terninal, he worked and paid tax and what quality of life does a raise that size improve?
Same battle Hestia has I know, just makes me mad as hell that people in this situation who have contributed during their wouking life have to spen their last days in poverty
